Most Critical Skill Online

I am always looking for ways to improve on my copywriting skill. This is a critical skill one should pick up if you are serious about making money online. I used to be put off by anything related to do with copywriting simply because I have the misconception that I need to be able to write well which is only half the story to copywriting.

Copywriting is really about conveying a message in a way anyone can understand and would cause them to take action as a result of reading what you wrote. Unless you have been trained for years and have been constantly practising your copywriting skill, you will find yourself struggling initially.

But thankfully I have a better suggestion for all of you reading this, instead of focusing on copywriting, think Preselling instead. Preselling is easy for most people especially if you have a problem with selling. SOme folks are too shy, some just lack the confidence to sell. But with preselling, almost anyone can tell a good story and that's essentially what preselling is about. Providing useful information on a product or a service. If you are looking to improve on this, buy this book called, Make Your Content Presell. It's $9.95 and I guarantee your online business will improve by leaps and bound if you begin to implement the steps the book recommend when building your website.

Managing Your Time As A Full Time Affiliate Marketer

This August will mark the 2nd year I have worked full-time as an affiliate marketer. Like any business you will experience cycles of up and down. The pace on the web is fast and furious, things change and what is true today might become obsolete tomorrow. Be very careful about what you read and who you listen to.

As a father of one and another one coming along next year, I am supposed to plan my time to maximize every second I have. Yes I do have the flexibility to manage my schedule but I probably never work as hard as I did in my working days. I start my day early at around 7am or sometimes earlier, after sending my wife off to work, I will be back by almost 8.30am, depending on my wake-up time, I would spend at least 30 minutes reading my bible and doing my quiet time.

Then it's about an hour clearing my emails. Email is supose to be a time saver but if you are not careful it can turn out to be the biggest time waster. Thereafter I will spend the next 30 minutes or so going through the stats, ie find out how much money you make or incur. Yes you do need to invest in marketing before you can see any form of returns.

I do different tasks on different days, for existing sites, I do spend at least a few hours a week updating the sites, newer sites take a long time to set up and promote. There is always so much that needs to be accomplish and yet so little time. On most days I end my day at around 7pm around the same time my wife returns from work. I never work on Sundays, and on Saturdays, it's half day.

Bottomline is this, affiliate business like any business is hard work. Yes there is not much in customer fulfilment or even delivery of products, but there are promotional activities to embark on and monitor. You need to patience, discipline and hard work to make it in this business or any business.

SiteSell - Site Build It Affiliate Of The Day

Site Sell Site Build It
In the month of May or June, I was fortunate enough to win the SiteSell Affiliate of the Day Award for the first time. It's by no means easy but it's not complicated too. Perhaps in another day I will explain to you why I choose to promote it's flagship product, Site Build It. But for the record, I think I managed to sell 6 SBI in one day. It was no fluke and neither did I plan hard and long for this day. Winning the Affiliate of the Day award does have its privileges. You get into this President's Club which is not fully functional yet, its pretty much like those airport lounges you see catering to those frequent fliers. Another added advantage is this, you get to choose a unique affiliate link, I have chosen mine to be Singapore.SiteSell.com.
Site SellOther tangible benefits include a direct line of communication to the CEO of Site Sell, Ken Evoy plus a dedicated support staff serving the Top Affiliates of the Day. And bonus, yes an extra US$250 on top of your existing commission from the sales of SiteBuildIt, aka SBI! Oops I forgot to add, you get pretty nice looking key chain like the one you see here...

Ok enough of boosting ;), time to get back to another long day of hard work! Yes affiliate marketing is hard work but it's fun too! Er...only when you make money that is...
